  • Iran is preparing for 50 years of threats, Acting Defense Minister says.

Iran's Acting Minister of Defense, Majid Ebn al-Reza, said that the Ministry of Defense has launched comprehensive, future-oriented strategic studies aimed at countering potential security threats facing the nation over the next five decades, Iran state media reported Sunday.

Reflecting on recent conflicts, the general pointed to the critical role played by Iranian human capital and domestic technological expertise during wartime operations.

He emphasized that Iran deployed highly efficient strategies against foreign adversaries, forcing hostile powers to incur significantly higher operational and financial costs on the battlefield.

Ebn al-Reza added that the defense sector will continue to expand its domestic technological capabilities, framing self-reliance and domestic innovation as the core pillars of Iran's long-term military deterrence strategy.

The defense minister's comments come amid ongoing regional tensions and a broader shift in Iran's military doctrine following the 2026 US-Iran war.
