One Palestinian citizen was killed and four others were injured on Friday following a series of violent attacks carried out by 'Israeli' settlers across multiple locations south of Hebron in the occupied West Bank, while 'Israeli' forces detained seven individuals during accompanying raids.

Palestinian sources reported that armed settlers launched an attack on homes using stones in the Deir Shams area, located near Ad-Dhahiriya and Es-Samu.

The assault resulted in one death, four injuries, and the theft of several livestock.

During the confrontation, attackers smashed the glass of a Palestine Red Crescent Society ambulance, actively preventing medical personnel from reaching injured residents.

Arson targeting industrial equipment, residential raids

In a separate early-morning attack, settlers raided a stone quarry owned by Khaled Al-Za'areer, situated between Wadi Al-Rakhim and Wadi Ajheesh.

The assailants set fire to a bulldozer, heavy machinery, and stone-cutting equipment after painting racist slogans on-site that threatened death and forced displacement.

In the Sha'b Al-Butum area of Masafer Yatta, settlers broke into the home of Ibrahim Al-Jabarin, damaging his personal belongings.

'Israeli' forces subsequently arrested Al-Jabarin along with his son Jibril, as well as Osama Mahamda and Is-haq Al-Jabarin.

To the north, in the town of Beit Ummar, forces raided several homes and detained Amjad Habes Abu Ayyash, Raed Akhleil, and Mustafa Muhammad Qooqas.

Surge in West Bank settler violence

The Friday incidents occur amid a marked surge in settler violence across the West Bank.

Data released by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission indicates that settlers committed 3,488 attacks during the first half of 2026, resulting in the deaths of 17 Palestinians.

Furthermore, the commission recorded 2,256 joint incidents between 'Israeli' forces and settlers during July alone, including 798 direct attacks executed by settlers.
