  • 11 bodies were found beneath the Al-Sawafiri family home in Gaza City by Civil Defense crews.
  • 170 Palestinians are believed to be trapped beneath the rubble at eight destroyed homes.
  • 813 bodies have been recovered from destroyed buildings since October amid severe equipment shortages.

Civil Defense crews in Gaza have recovered 11 bodies from beneath the rubble of the Al-Sawafiri family home in Gaza City’s Zeitoun neighborhood on Wednesday following three days of continuous search efforts according to Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmoud Basal.

The ‘Israeli’ strike on the Al-Sawafiri home occurred at the beginning of the war, killing 46 people. Until civil defense teams managed to extract them, eleven individuals remained trapped beneath the rubble. Among those killed in the attack were children.

Civil Defense personnel have conducted inspections of eight fully destroyed residences, where approximately 170 Palestinians are thought to remain trapped under the rubble. The ongoing search and rescue efforts remain heavily hampered by severe equipment shortages, caused by the 'Israeli' blockade and the extensive destruction of civil infrastructure..

According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, 813 bodies have been recovered from under destroyed buildings since last October.

Since Oct. 7, 2023, the ‘Israeli’ military assault on the Gaza Strip has killed at least 73,407 Palestinians and wounded 174,335 others, with strikes continuing despite the ceasefire agreed upon in October of last year.
