Iran plans to restore 95 million cubic meters per day of lost natural gas production capacity by the end of September, the Oil Ministry said Tuesday, as Tehran works to repair energy infrastructure damaged during the war with ‘Israel’ and the United States.
Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad said the restoration would recover production capacity lost after gas-processing facilities in Asalouyeh were damaged.
A senior Iranian official said in July that Iran expected to restore around 100 million cubic meters per day of natural gas production capacity “in the coming months.” Airstrikes had knocked out around 230 million cubic meters of production capacity since the war began in late February.
Paknejad said reconstruction of four damaged gas-processing plants was progressing rapidly after debris was cleared, reconstruction plans were prepared and contractors began work.
He said the reconstruction was expected to be completed ahead of schedule, allowing the lost production capacity to return fully to the national gas network.
