Iran’s joint military command accused the US of pursuing what it described as a “delusional scheme” and “brutality,” warning that any further actions would trigger a strong response.

The commander of the Khatam al Anbiya Central Headquarters, which oversees Iran’s armed forces, said Washington had attempted to create “division and discord between the people and officials.”

In a statement, the command warned: “Any act of covetousness, bullying, totalitarianism or brutality will be met with the decisive and devastating response.”

Iranian political, military, and religious figures have frequently issued warnings against the US, threatening responses of varying levels of severity.

Since the US strikes, Iran’s primary responses have included attacks on US military bases in the region and efforts to increase control over the Strait of Hormuz, a key global shipping route.

Tehran has also sought to portray the country as united in response to what it describes as US aggression.

Earlier this year, large-scale protests erupted in Iran over economic conditions, followed by a government crackdown that rights groups said resulted in thousands of deaths.

The Iranian government has not confirmed those figures.
