  • Tehran officials warned of retaliation against US forces if further attacks occur.

Iranian officials have pushed back against US President Donald Trump’s threat to target Kharg Island, a key hub for Iranian oil exports, warning of retaliation.

Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for Iran’s parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, wrote on X that Iran was prepared to respond to any attack.

“Come, we are waiting for you, and we promise that not a single American soldier will return alive,” Rezaei said.

Ali Akbar Velayati, Iran’s former foreign affairs minister, also criticized what he called the latest escalation, saying Iran had previously warned that “the region is no place for the political gambling of small nations.”

Velayati added that Iran “stands with its finger on the trigger to cleanse the region.”

The statements came after Trump said US forces had targeted parts of Kharg Island and warned that further strikes could take place. Kharg Island is one of Iran’s most important facilities for crude oil exports.
