An ‘Israeli’ Air Force helicopter transporting President Isaac Herzog made an emergency landing on Thursday after colliding with birds during flight.

The incident occurred while the aircraft was en route from a memorial ceremony at Mount Herzl in Jerusalem to a shiva call in central ‘Israel’.

According to the ‘Israeli’ military, the helicopter struck a flock of birds, prompting the crew to land safely at Palmachim Airbase in central ‘Israel’ as a precautionary measure.

No injuries were reported among Herzog, the crew, or others on board, and there was no apparent damage to the aircraft.

Herzog had earlier participated in a state memorial event at Mount Herzl marking the 12th anniversary of the 2014 assault on Gaza.

Following the controlled landing at Palmachim Airbase, Herzog and the crew transferred to a replacement military helicopter to continue their journey without further interruption.
