‘Israeli’ police have arrested four family members—the grandfather, grandmother, uncle, and aunt of a 9-year-old boy—on suspicion of committing indecent acts, physical abuse, and distributing child abuse material involving the minor.

The arrests were announced on Friday, following developments in an ongoing investigation.

The case emerged during a two-month probe by Unit 105 of the Lahav 433 police unit into a pedophilia network operating on Telegram groups, where parents allegedly distributed abusive materials.

Authorities identified an incident of harm to the minor during this broader investigation, leading to the arrests of the family members from central ‘Israel’.

According to police statements, the suspects are accused of creating and sharing images of the boy as part of the network's activities.

The investigation highlights concerns over familial involvement in such crimes, which often complicate detection and victim protection efforts.

On Tuesday, several other suspects from the central region were arrested in connection with the network. The four family members were detained subsequently, underscoring the expanding scope of the operation targeting online distribution of child exploitation material.

Petah Tikva Magistrate's Court reviewed the suspects' remand on Friday. One was released to house arrest, two others were placed under house arrest, and the detention of a fourth was extended until Sunday.

Police requested a stay of execution on the releases.

The police continue to investigate the full extent of the network. No further details about the boy's current condition or additional charges have been publicly released.
