  • 'Israel’s' defence minister says 'Israel' will not withdraw from security zones in Lebanon, Syria, and Gaza.

'Israel’s' Defence Minister has said the country will not withdraw from what he described as “security zones” in Lebanon, Syria, and Gaza, as regional tensions continue and the United States moves closer to potential understandings with Iran.

In remarks posted on X, Israel Katz said Israel must ensure it retains the “ability to act independently to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons,” warning that shifting diplomatic dynamics should not limit 'Israel’s' security posture.

He claimed that the United States and 'Israel' have already inflicted “severe blows on Iran that have set back its capabilities by many years,” adding that 'Israel’s' operations would continue.

“Israel will not withdraw from the security zones in Lebanon, Syria and Gaza,” Katz wrote. He added that the 'Israeli' military would continue to defend borders and citizens “from the peak of Mount Hermon, the mountains of Lebanon, the areas of our land in the Samaria region, and most of the territory of Gaza,” framing these deployments as lessons drawn from the October 7 events.

Katz also said 'Israel’s' security doctrine was “sharp and clear,” emphasizing that the country acts against both “near and distant threats” to achieve strategic outcomes rather than pursue “compromises and concessions.”
