Ramat David Airbase in northern ‘Israel’ may have sustained damage during Iranian ballistic missile attacks on June 7-8, according to satellite imagery analyzed by geospatial intelligence firm Soar Atlas.

The images, published on June 9, compare footage from June 5 with low-resolution imagery captured on June 8 from the European Commission’s Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellite.

They appear to show a discolored patch or impact site at a hangar within the facility.

The airbase, located approximately 15-20 kilometers southeast of Haifa near Migdal Ha’emek and kibbutz Ramat David, serves as a key Israeli Air Force installation.

It houses multiple F-16 fighter squadrons, including the 101 “First Fighter,” 105 “Scorpion,” and 109 “The Valley” squadrons, along with specialized drone units for electronic warfare and other classified operations.

Its strategic importance stems from its role in supporting air operations in the northern sector.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed responsibility for targeting Ramat David with ballistic missiles as retaliation for an ‘Israeli’ airstrike on Hezbollah headquarters in Beirut’s southern suburbs earlier on June 7.

Iran launched around 24 missiles toward ‘Israel’ in total, with many directed at northern areas.

The ‘Israeli’ military reported intercepting the majority of incoming threats, stating that all missiles were either downed or landed in open areas, with no casualties or significant damage officially confirmed.

The extent of any potential damage at Ramat David remains unclear from the available satellite imagery, which is of relatively low resolution.

‘Israeli’ military sources have not publicly acknowledged an impact at the base, consistent with standard policy restricting detailed disclosures on sensitive sites.

This exchange marks the first direct Iranian missile attack on ‘Israel’ since a fragile ceasefire took effect in early April.

‘Israel’ responded with airstrikes on Iranian air defense systems and infrastructure, including a petrochemical complex.

Iranian officials reported two air defense personnel killed in those operations.
