Two members of Iran’s air defense unit were killed in an 'Israeli' attack, according to reports from Iran’s state-run Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) on Tuesday.

The broadcaster said the two men were “killed while carrying out a mission to defend the country’s airspace.”

A Tehran municipality employee was also killed in the attack, according to the semi-official Fars News Agency, bringing the confirmed death toll in Iran to three.

The reported casualties come after 'Israel' and Iran restored a ceasefire following an exchange of missile attacks on Sunday and Monday that raised fears of a broader regional escalation.

Despite the truce, tensions remain high. Tehran has warned that it will resume attacks if 'Israeli' strikes in southern Lebanon continue.

Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation appear to be underway. US President Donald Trump told reporters early Tuesday that an agreement with Iran could be reached “in two or three days.”

Trump said the proposed deal would prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon and would result in the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping route.

Neither Iranian nor 'Israeli' officials have publicly commented on the details of any potential agreement.

The latest developments come amid growing international calls for restraint and renewed diplomatic engagement to avoid a wider conflict in the Middle East.
