Yemen condemns Houthi-Iran link, rejects conflict involvement

  • Government accuses Houthis of acting in coordination with Iran.
  • Emphasizes protection of civilians and preservation of national sovereignty.

The internationally recognized Yemen government issued a warning over potential Houthi strikes against ‘Israel’, saying such actions would endanger national security, disrupt supply chains, and raise food and energy prices in a country already facing one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises.

In a statement, the government condemned the Houthis’ alignment with Iran, calling any military operations outside Yemen’s constitutional authority “illegal acts” and holding perpetrators and supporters fully accountable. It emphasized its commitment to protecting civilians, preserving sovereignty, and preventing Yemen from being used as a platform to threaten regional and international security.

The warning followed the Houthis’ launch of ballistic missiles toward southern ‘Israel’, prompting alerts in Dimona, Be’er Sheva, and Eilat.

'Israeli' authorities reported intercepting at least one projectile. Yemen called on the international community to pressure Iran and the Houthis to respect Yemen’s sovereignty and support the restoration of government control across the country.
