US President Donald Trump on Friday sharply criticized NATO for not providing military support during the ongoing conflict with Iran, calling the alliance’s inaction a “disappointment” the US will remember. Speaking at the Future Investment Initiative Summit, Trump described recent operations as a “major military success,” including strikes on Iranian nuclear and weapons facilities.

Trump labeled Iran a former “bully” now in “retreat” and said Middle Eastern countries would soon be free from “Iranian terror and extortion.”
Military Achievements and Targets
Trump said US forces destroyed Iranian air defenses, targeted nuclear sites, and killed the Supreme Leader, while his son reportedly suffered severe injuries. Thousands of targets have been hit, with 3,450 additional objectives remaining. He also noted Iran’s missile attacks on Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, and Kuwait, stressing that Tehran must reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
NATO Criticism and Regional Alliances
Trump expressed frustration over NATO’s refusal to assist the US, contrasting the alliance with “loyal” Middle Eastern partners. “We will remember this and take lessons from it,” he said. He denied media claims that his domestic support had eroded due to the war, citing stable financial markets despite the war.

Pause in Energy Strikes
On Thursday, Trump announced a 10-day suspension of operations against Iranian energy infrastructure, saying it followed Tehran’s request and that negotiations were “progressing well.” Secretary of State Marco Rubio indicated the campaign could conclude within weeks, not months, as U.S. forces approach their objectives.
