As Jordanians await the official announcement of fuel prices for April, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, revealed a set of government measures aimed at cushioning the impact of global energy price fluctuations and ensuring local market stability.
Managing reserves to ease price pressure
Al-Kharabsheh said the government can release part of its strategic reserves, which include pre-purchased oil and fuel derivatives at prices below current international market rates.
This step is intended to create price balance and prevent sharp spikes in fuel tariffs at the start of the month.

Electricity system secure
The minister reassured citizens that the national electricity system remains fully operational, with a steady supply and no risks of disruption.
This stability is supported by regular delivery schedules, new gas shipments arriving on April 1 and April 15, and cooperation with Egypt for additional gas supply.
Proactive economic stability measures
The measures reflect a proactive government approach linking strategic reserve management with reinforced energy supplies, aiming to maintain market calm and preserve citizens’ purchasing power amid exceptional regional conditions.
