  • 22-month-old Jawad Abu Nassar tortured during arrest in Gaza, father still detained.
  • Child suffered burns, metal tool injuries, and fever; hospitalized at Al-Aqsa Hospital.

Jawad Abu Nassar, a 22-month-old boy, was returned to his family after being subjected to severe torture during his arrest by 'Israeli' forces east of the Al-Maghazi camp in the Gaza Strip. His father, Osama Abu Nassar, remains detained, and his fate is still unknown.

In an interview with Roya, Jawad’s mother described the injuries her son sustained. “When I took him home, I saw his face was very pale. He was trembling and in pain. His legs had entry and exit marks from metal tools, and they even burned him with a cigarette,” she said. “How could anyone do this to a 22-month-old? Even an adult could not bear this.”

The child spent the night in pain and developed a high fever, prompting immediate treatment at Al-Aqsa Hospital. “We stayed by his side all night, watching him suffer, not knowing if his father would ever return,” she added.

Jawad’s grandfather also told Roya correspondent about the family’s fears for Osama Abu Nassar. “We are asking for someone to help us bring Osama back. We want reassurance about him because the Red Cross tells us they can only pass information. We live every moment in fear.”

The family has appealed to international and human rights organizations for urgent intervention. “What happened to our child goes beyond all international laws and conventions that protect children,” the mother said. “We need immediate help to treat Jawad and bring his father back safely.”
