Moscow accuses ‘Israel’ of targeting RT crew in southern Lebanon

Russia on Thursday accused the ‘Israeli’ military of deliberately targeting a television crew from state-run RT while they were reporting from southern Lebanon, leaving a reporter and a cameraman wounded.

“The crew’s clothing clearly read ‘press’ and they were carrying only cameras and microphones. All these circumstances indicate that the attack on the journalists was deliberate and targeted,” said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova in a statement.

The ‘Israeli’ military responded by saying the TV crew had been operating in an area from which a warning to evacuate had been issued. It added that it “has never and will never deliberately target journalists.”
