Saudi civil defence reported that four residents were injured when shrapnel from a ballistic missile interception fell on a residential neighborhood in Riyadh on Wednesday. Authorities said material damage was limited.

“Four residents sustained injuries, and limited material damage occurred, as a result of shrapnel falling onto a residential area in Riyadh following the interception of a ballistic missile,” the statement said on X.

Drones intercepted near energy site

Separately, Saudi forces said they intercepted five drones approaching an energy facility in the eastern part of the country. While official sources have not confirmed the specific target, media reports suggest the facility may have been part of Aramco’s infrastructure.

Saudi authorities had previously warned that any attacks on Aramco facilities would prompt a military response. The current interceptions come amid heightened regional tensions involving Iran, the US, and ‘Israel’, raising concerns over energy security in the region.
