British Airways has temporarily suspended flights to several Middle East destinations, including Amman, citing ongoing uncertainty and airspace instability across the region.
The airline said it has cancelled all flights to and from Amman, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai and Tel Aviv until later this month, while flights to and from Abu Dhabi will remain suspended until later this year. The decision comes as tensions and security concerns continue to affect regional airspace.
British Airways stated that it is closely monitoring the situation and remains in contact with affected passengers to provide alternative travel options.
To assist stranded travelers, the airline scheduled a series of repatriation flights from Muscat in Oman to London Heathrow earlier in March. Several of these flights, including services on March 5, 6, 7 and 8, quickly reached full capacity due to high demand.
Additional flights from Muscat were later arranged for March 9, 10, 11 and 12, departing at 02:30 local time. The airline said limited seats remain available for passengers who already hold bookings and are currently in Oman or the United Arab Emirates.
British Airways advised travelers not to head to airports unless they hold confirmed bookings and urged passengers to follow safety guidance issued by local authorities and the United Kingdom’s Foreign Office.
The airline said it will continue reviewing conditions in the region and may add further flights if circumstances allow.
