Saudi and Kuwaiti leaders reaffirm Gulf security amid Iranian attacks, with regional allies expressing solidarity.
Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman and Kuwaiti Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al Hamad Al Sabah reaffirmed ongoing efforts to strengthen coordination among Gulf states to preserve regional security and stability, during a phone call Thursday evening.
The two leaders condemned recent Iranian attacks on Gulf countries, calling them “heinous assaults” that violate national sovereignty and threaten the safety of civilians, with serious implications for regional and international security.
According to the Kuwaiti news agency, Sheikh Sabah Khaled emphasized the need to maintain shared security and fully reject any actions that could harm Saudi Arabia amid regional tensions. He stated that “an attack on Gulf countries is an attack on Kuwait,” and highlighted that “through the wisdom of our leaders, we will overcome this period with strength and resilience.” He also stressed the importance of enhancing Gulf coordination to ensure the safety and stability of the region.
Separately, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman received phone calls from Djibouti President Ismaïl Omar Guelleh and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia following the Iranian attacks and supported the measures the Kingdom is taking to safeguard its territory and security.
The Saudi Press Agency reported that during his call with President Guelleh, the Crown Prince discussed developments amid the ongoing military escalation in the region. Meanwhile, President Abbas reaffirmed Palestine’s rejection of any attacks on Saudi sovereignty and security, praised Saudi Arabia’s steadfast support for the Palestinian people, and underscored the strength of bilateral relations and the need for continued coordination to face current challenges.
