'Israeli' warplanes carried out a wide air aggression earlier, launching a series of violent strikes targeting the outskirts of several towns and the western mountain range of Lebanon’s Beqaa Valley.
Field reports indicate the raids involved concussion missiles designed to hit fortified underground positions, signaling a qualitative escalation in the nature of the attacks.
The airstrikes targeted multiple areas across Lebanese territory. Three consecutive raids hit the outskirts of Shmustar, while two strikes targeted the outskirts of Harbata in northern Bekaa.
One raid struck the town of Boday, and another targeted Beit Mchaik. Four additional violent strikes hit the area between the towns of Brital and Al-Taybeh.
In a statement, the Arabic spokesperson for the 'Israeli' army Captain Ella said the forces were currently attacking what she described as “infrastructure” belonging to Hezbollah’s Radwan Force unit in the Baalbek area of Lebanon
According to the statement, the camps were used to store weapons and missiles and to conduct training exercises, including live-fire drills and preparations for emergency scenarios.
The army claimed the activity at the sites and alleged rearmament efforts constitute a violation of understandings between ‘Israel’ and Lebanon and pose a threat to its security.
It added that it will continue operations to prevent Hezbollah from rebuilding its capabilities.
