  • Operation part of wider escalation across the West Bank amid ongoing war on Gaza.

In a related incident, ‘Israeli’ forces raided the nearby town of Qaraweh Bani Hassan west of Salfit, demolishing three Palestinian homes, according to eyewitnesses. Details on arrests or casualties were not immediately available.

West Bank under continued pressure

Since the start of the ‘Israeli’ war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, forces have intensified attacks in the West Bank, including killings, arrests, forced displacement, and expansion of settlements, measures Palestinians say aim to impose new realities on the ground.

Official Palestinian data indicates that these operations have killed at least 1,114 Palestinians, injured approximately 11,500, and resulted in the detention of around 22,000 across the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
