The Palestinian Security Forces reported that during a law enforcement operation in Tubas to arrest a wanted individual under a judicial warrant, the operation resulted in the death of the suspect’s son and injury to his daughter, who was immediately transferred to a hospital for treatment, according to initial reports.

The official spokesperson for the Palestinian Security Forces, Major General Anwar Rajab, expressed deep regret over the casualties, emphasizing that the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under thorough and careful investigation.

Investigation Underway

The security forces stated that a prompt and comprehensive investigation has been launched, supervised by the relevant authorities, to determine all details and assign responsibility transparently. The results of the inquiry will be announced once concluded.

The forces reiterated their commitment to enforcing the law, protecting citizens, and maintaining public safety, emphasizing that any proven violations will be addressed in accordance with the law.

Casualties Identified

The operation follows hours after the death of the daughter’s brother, Ali, and injury and detention of their father in Tubas. The daughter, who was critically injured during the operation, later succumbed to her wounds, marking a tragic escalation in the incident.

Hamas condemnation 

In response, Hamas condemned the killings, describing the death of the children as “a crime reflecting the severity of the oppressive policies” and warned of potential repercussions.

Hamas also issued an urgent statement demanding accountability for those involved in the killing of the suspect’s children and called for the release of political detainees, labeling the deaths as part of broader repression.
