Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned what it described as efforts by ‘Israel’ to annex occupied Palestinian land, including a recent decision to classify areas in the occupied West Bank as so called “state property.”
The ministry said the measure constitutes a “flagrant violation” of international law and international humanitarian law, and undermines the Palestinian people’s inalienable right to self determination, ending the occupation, and establishing an independent, sovereign state on the June 4, 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital. It stressed that ‘Israel’ has no sovereignty over the occupied West Bank.
Official spokesperson Ambassador Fuad Al-Majali voiced the Kingdom’s absolute rejection and strong condemnation of any 'Israeli' decisions or attempts to impose sovereignty and 'Israeli' law on the occupied West Bank.

He said such actions represent a blatant violation of international law, the legal status of the occupied territory, and United Nations Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2334, which condemns 'Israeli' measures aimed at altering the demographic composition, character, and status of the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem.
Majali also cited the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, which affirmed the illegality of the 'Israeli' occupation of Palestinian territory, the invalidity of settlement construction, and measures to annex parts of the occupied West Bank.
He warned against continued “Israeli” policies that violate international law and relevant UN resolutions, reiterating that all 'Israeli' actions in the occupied West Bank, as well as violations against Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Jerusalem, are illegal and illegitimate.
Jordan called on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities and to compel ‘Israel’, as the occupying power, to halt what it described as dangerous escalation and unilateral measures in the occupied West Bank, and to fulfill the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them the establishment of their independent state as the only path to a just and comprehensive peace that ensures security and stability in the region.
