  • Jordan rejects continued ‘Israeli’ incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque as violations of the legal and historical status quo.
  • Foreign Ministry urges firm international action to halt ‘Israel’s’ practices in occupied Jerusalem.

Jordan on Sunday strongly condemned the continued ‘Israeli’ incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque, most recently by a member of the ‘Israeli’ Knesset, describing the move as a flagrant violation of the established legal and historical status quo at the holy site and a desecration of its sanctity.

Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates stressed that ‘Israel’ has no sovereignty over occupied Jerusalem or its Islamic and Christian holy sites.

Official spokesperson Ambassador Fouad Majali said the Kingdom categorically rejects and strongly denounces the ongoing incursions by extremist ‘Israeli’ ministers and Knesset members into Al-Aqsa Mosque, calling them unacceptable and provocative acts aimed at imposing new realities at the site and attempting to divide it temporally and spatially.

“Al-Aqsa Mosque, in its entirety spanning 144 dunams, is a place of worship exclusively for Muslims,” the statement said.
