- Jordan says ‘Israel’ has no sovereignty over occupied Palestinian land
- Amman warns illegal measures undermine international law and the two-state solution
Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has strongly condemned the latest illegal decisions and measures approved by the ‘Israeli’ government aimed at imposing unlawful sovereignty, entrenching settlement expansion, and creating a new legal and administrative reality in the occupied West Bank.
In a statement, the ministry said the steps constitute a flagrant violation of international law, undermine the two-state solution, and represent an assault on the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent, sovereign state along the June 4, 1967 lines, with occupied Jerusalem as its capital. The ministry stressed that ‘Israel’ holds no sovereignty over occupied Palestinian territory.
Rejection of unilateral measures
Ministry spokesperson Ambassador Fuad Majali said the Kingdom firmly rejects and condemns the unilateral, illegal, and void ‘Israeli’ measures in the occupied West Bank.

He said the actions constitute a clear breach of United Nations Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2334, which condemns all ‘Israeli’ measures aimed at altering the demographic composition, character, and status of occupied Palestinian territory since 1967, including East Jerusalem.
Majali also cited the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, which affirmed the obligation to end the ‘Israeli’ occupation and the invalidity of the annexation of occupied Palestinian land.
Warning against escalation
The spokesperson warned that the continued expansionist policies and illegal practices of the extremist ‘Israeli’ government in the occupied West Bank fuel ongoing cycles of violence and instability across the region.
He said such actions deepen the conflict and threaten regional security.
Call for international action
Majali renewed Jordan’s call on the international community to shoulder its legal and moral responsibilities by compelling ‘Israel’ and its extremist government to halt the dangerous escalation in the occupied West Bank and end inflammatory rhetoric by its officials.
He stressed that fulfilling the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including the establishment of an independent state on their national soil, remains the only path toward achieving a just and comprehensive peace that guarantees security and stability in the region.
