Qatar affirms support for peaceful solutions in call with Iranian security chief

Qatar’s Foreign Ministry said on Saturday that Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani assured Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani of Doha’s firm support for peaceful solutions to regional disputes, aimed at enhancing security and stability.

During the call, the Qatari prime minister stressed the need for coordinated international efforts to prevent the severe consequences of any potential military escalation.

The ministry added that Sheikh Mohammed highlighted ongoing diplomatic coordination with allied and friendly countries to resolve differences through dialogue and diplomacy.

The move reflects Qatar’s continued efforts to act as an effective mediator between Tehran and Washington, seeking to defuse tensions and create conditions conducive to dialogue without resorting to threats.
