  • ‘Israeli’ intelligence officials, including military intelligence chief Gen. Shlomi Binder, are in Washington sharing specific targets for potential US strikes on Iran, as President Trump considers his "armada" ready for a decision in the coming days.
  • Saudi Arabia is actively mediating to prevent war, with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman refusing to allow the use of Saudi airspace for attacks, while Iran warned that any "limited strike" will be met with an immediate, "all-out" response targeting Tel Aviv and US regional bases.

Senior intelligence officials from ‘Israel’ went to the United States capital to discuss the possibility of American military strikes on Iran, amid an ongoing US military buildup in the Gulf region, according to Axios.

This development occurs as President Trump has issued warnings to Tehran while expressing openness to diplomatic resolutions.

US officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, indicated that the directive is currently focused on preparation, with a potential decision point for the President on Iran expected in the coming days.

Trump himself described the assembled US naval forces off Iran's coast as an "armada" larger than that deployed near Venezuela, and he has threatened strikes that would be "far worse" than previous actions, while noting his willingness to pursue diplomacy.

However, White House officials emphasized that no final decision has been made, and there are presently no substantive negotiations between the US and Iran, as Tehran shows little interest in terms aligned with US demands.

‘Israeli’ representatives, including military intelligence chief Gen. Shlomi Binder, have been sharing specific intelligence on potential targets within Iran at the request of the Trump administration.

Saudi Arabian officials, led by Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman, a close confidant and younger brother of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, are scheduled to meet with counterparts at the Pentagon, State Department, and White House, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and special envoy Steve Witkoff.

The Saudi delegation is advocating for a diplomatic approach to avert a broader regional conflict.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman informed Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian that Saudi Arabia would not permit the use of its airspace for any US attack, according to Saudi state media.

Additionally, Saudi intermediaries are facilitating message exchanges between the US and Iran in an effort to de-escalate tensions.

In response, Iranian officials have issued strong warnings of retaliation.

Ali Shamkhani, a senior adviser to Iran's supreme leader, stated on the social media platform X:

"A 'limited strike' is an illusion. Any military action by the U.S. — from any origin and at any level — will be considered an act of war and the response will be immediate, all out, and unprecedented, targeting the heart of Tel Aviv and all those supporting the aggressor."

Other Iranian statements have similarly threatened strikes on US bases in the region.
