The 'Israeli' army withdrew late Thursday night from the southern neighborhood of Hebron in the occupied West Bank after a four-day military operation.

Local families emphasized the importance of community unity, describing it as "the strongest weapon against occupation and all targeting attempts." They also praised journalists for professional reporting that highlighted the population’s suffering and exposed "collective punishment policies."

Background

The operation, announced Monday by the 'Israeli' army, involved the Shin Bet and border police and focused on the "Jabal Johar" area in southern Hebron. The army claimed the raids responded to "security assessments" regarding armed groups, clan disputes, and illegal weapons proliferation.

The raids took place in H2, the portion of Hebron under 'Israeli' control per the 1997 Hebron Agreement, while H1 remains under Palestinian Authority control.
