  • Hamas condemns Netanyahu’s inclusion in Trump’s Peace Board, calling it a “dangerous precedent” amid ICC war crimes charges.
  • Netanyahu did not attend Davos signing; Hamas says true stability requires ending 'Israeli' violations and holding leaders accountable.

Hamas has condemned the inclusion of 'Israeli' Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the “Peace Board” announced by U.S. President Donald Trump, calling it a “dangerous precedent” that contradicts the principles of justice and accountability.

The criticism comes as Netanyahu faces International Criminal Court (ICC) charges over alleged war crimes in Gaza.

In a statement released Thursday, Hamas said it “strongly denounces the inclusion of war criminal Netanyahu, wanted by the ICC, in the Peace Board and considers it a serious signal against justice and accountability.”

Obstruction of Ceasefire and Civilian Targeting

The group added that Netanyahu continues to obstruct the ceasefire in Gaza, targeting civilians, destroying neighborhoods and public infrastructure, and attacking shelters, despite the truce taking effect over three months ago.

Hamas stressed that achieving stability in Gaza requires ending 'Israeli' violations, holding those responsible for mass killings and systematic starvation accountable, with Netanyahu at the forefront.

Peace Board Charter Signed in Davos

Netanyahu’s office confirmed on Wednesday that he had accepted Trump’s invitation to join the Peace Board, which aims to include world leaders. However, many countries have expressed hesitation in joining.

The Peace Board charter was signed Thursday in Davos, Switzerland, during ceremonies attended by Trump and representatives from 22 countries, including Bahrain, Morocco, Argentina, Indonesia, Jordan, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the UAE.

Occupation “Root of Terrorism,” Says Hamas

Hamas described the Israeli Occupation as “the root of terrorism and a direct threat to regional and international security and peace,” reiterating that true stability can only come from ending 'Israeli' violations and ensuring accountability for crimes against Palestinians.

Netanyahu Absent Amid ICC Arrest Warrant

Netanyahu did not attend the Davos inauguration, following Switzerland’s adherence to an ICC arrest warrant issued against him for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

The ICC issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Galant in November 2024, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity during 'Israel’s' 2023 military operation in Gaza, which lasted two years and resulted in more than 71,000 deaths and over 171,000 injuries.
