  • Unknown missile hits near Mezzeh military airport in Damascus, no injuries reported.

An unidentified missile fell in the vicinity of Mezzeh military airport in Damascus on Saturday, according to Syrian state media.

The official news agency SANA cited a security source saying the missile landed “near Mezzeh military airport in Damascus, causing no injuries or material damage.”

Explosions heard in the area

Local media and residents reported hearing an explosion in the area. A similar blast was heard near Mezzeh on Monday, which state media said was the result of “military training exercises.”

Recurring missile and rocket incidents

The Mezzeh area occasionally experiences explosions from incoming missiles or rockets. Authorities usually launch investigations but have not publicly identified the perpetrators.

On December 9, SANA reported that three unidentified projectiles targeted the area around Mezzeh military airport, again causing no injuries or damage.

Earlier, on November 14, a woman was injured when a missile attack hit a residential home in the region. SANA cited a military source stating the attack was carried out “using missiles launched from a mobile platform,” adding that the perpetrators and the weapon used remained unknown.
