Will it snow in Jordan next week?

Jordan’s Meteorological Department has forecast that a humid air mass linked to a low-pressure system over Cyprus will begin affecting the country from early Saturday.

The final days of 2025 are expected to be rainy and cold due to two consecutive weather systems, with impacts lasting until next Tuesday.

First system peaks

Rain is expected to start in northern and central Jordan at dawn on Saturday, spreading later to parts of the eastern and southwestern regions.

The system will intensify Saturday evening through Sunday morning, bringing heavy rain, thunderstorms, hail, and strong western winds that could stir dust in desert areas. The first system is forecast to gradually weaken Sunday evening as it moves toward northeastern Syria.

Second system forms Monday

A new low-pressure system will form Monday morning as cold air continues to flow from central Europe, causing renewed rainfall, occasionally heavy, along with a further drop in temperatures. This system is expected to move quickly toward Syria by Monday evening, gradually reducing rainfall. Tuesday will remain cold and damp, with light showers mainly in western areas.

Flood and wind warnings

Authorities warned of possible flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas, including the Dead Sea, from Saturday evening through Monday. Strong winds and gusts are also expected during both systems.

No snow expected

The Meteorological Department confirmed that there are no indicators for snowfall in Jordan before the end of the year and urged citizens to stay cautious and follow official weather updates.
