Jordan stops mandatory retirement for employees after 30 years of service
The Cabinet on Tuesday suspended the implementation of previous decisions that required the mandatory termination of government employees who have completed 30 years of service or accumulated 360 social security contributions, effective immediately.
The move aims to strike a balance between containing public spending and retaining experienced personnel in government institutions, while giving administrations greater flexibility to manage human resources based on actual needs.
Under the decision, authority to end the service of employees meeting the service or contribution thresholds is returned to the competent bodies, as was the case previously, and will now be exercised according to institutional requirements.
