  • Guinness World Records has reportedly stopped processing all new record applications from ‘Israel’ and the Palestinian territories, according to Hebrew media.
  • The decision led to the rejection of an ‘Israeli’ nonprofit's bid to set a record for the most voluntary kidney donors, with organizers calling the rejection "politically motivated."

Guinness World Records has reportedly “boycotted” processing applications from ‘Israel’, Hebrew channel 12 said after an ‘Israeli’ nonprofit's bid for a record was not accepted.

The decision also impacts Palestinian territories, including the West Bank and Gaza, according to N12.

Matnat Chaim, an organization which facilitates voluntary kidney transplants, has recently said it gathered 2000 donors who donated kidneys to strangers.

It intended to gather the volunteers for a group photo and submit the record attempt.

The British-based record-keeping body rejected the record attempt, according to the report.

‘Israel’s’ Channel 12 News added that Guinness judges abruptly halted the process, informing Matnat Chaim via email that they are "not currently processing record applications from Israel or the Palestinian territories."

Guinness has not issued a statement on the channel’s report yet.

Organizers said the rejection was “politically motivated”.
