'Israel' is willing to negotiate an agreement with Syria, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Tuesday, emphasizing that any deal must fully safeguard 'Israeli' security.

Speaking during a visit to Israeli Occupation soldiers wounded in a recent operation in southern Syria, Netanyahu stressed the country’s commitment to defending its borders. “After October 7, we are determined to protect our communities along the northern border, prevent the entrenchment of terrorist groups, safeguard our Druze allies, and ensure Israel is secure from attacks originating near the border,” he said.

Netanyahu outlined the conditions he expects Syria to meet, including the creation of a demilitarized buffer zone stretching from Damascus to the 'Israeli'-controlled buffer area, and secure approaches to Mount Hermon and its summit.

“In a positive atmosphere and with mutual understanding of these principles, an agreement with Syria is possible,” he added. “But Israel will always uphold its core security requirements.”

The comments come a day after U.S. President Donald Trump cautioned 'Israel' against actions that could destabilize Syria, following a phone call with Netanyahu. Trump expressed approval of Syria’s current leadership under President Ahmed al-Sharaa, who visited the White House in November.

The tensions follow a recent 'Israeli' military operation in southern Syria that killed 13 people.
