Germany called on 'Israel' on Tuesday to fully comply with the ceasefire in Gaza and facilitate the delivery of more humanitarian aid to the war-torn region.
The statement was made by German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul during a joint press briefing with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty in Berlin.
“Israel, too, must adhere to the ceasefire and, in particular, facilitate even more humanitarian aid. We repeatedly emphasize this to our interlocutors in Israel,” Wadephul said. He added that the priority now is for all parties to ensure the full implementation of the first phase of the ceasefire.
Wadephul also highlighted the need for a stabilization mission in Gaza to maintain security and expressed Germany’s readiness to support and participate in the EU-led Palestinian police training program.
The call comes amid the devastating aftermath of 'Israel’s' two-year war on Gaza, which has claimed more than 70,000 Palestinian lives. Despite a ceasefire reached on October 10, 'Israeli' attacks in the enclave have continued.
