On Friday, Syria strongly condemned an Israeli military operation in southern Syria that resulted in the deaths of 13 people overnight, labeling the assault a “war crime.”

In an official statement, the Syrian Foreign Ministry said, "Syria denounces... the criminal aggression" carried out by the Israeli army in the village of Beit Jinn. The statement added that such actions are intended to "ignite the region" and escalate conflict.

Early Friday, an 'Israeli' military operation in the town of Beit Jinnn in Damascus countryside left multiple civilians dead and several others injured, according to Syrian state media.

The incident follows the incursion of 'Israeli' forces into the town, during which three people were reportedly arrested.

Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reporters said 'Israeli' drones continue to hover over the area, and preliminary reports confirm the deaths of five individuals, including two children, whose bodies were taken to Al-Golan National Hospital in Al-Salam city, Quneitra.

The operation began around 3:40 AM, when 'Israeli' forces targeted Beit Jinnn with artillery shelling before entering the town. Residents confronted the invading troops, prompting violent clashes that involved heavy gunfire.

Following the withdrawal of ground forces, 'Israeli' aircraft patrolled the skies and released incendiary balloons over the area.
