  • Jordan welcomed around 540,000 visitors in October, boosting tourism revenues to USD 600.8 million.
  • Domestic tourism thrived, with nearly 25,000 participants in the "Urdunna Jannah" program.
  • Jordan earned international recognition, including North Azraq Village being named among the world’s top tourism villages for 2025.

Jordan’s tourism sector marked a strong performance in October, demonstrating progress aligned with the country’s Economic Modernization Vision (EMV). The initiative aims to boost competitiveness, diversify tourism offerings, empower local communities, and promote sustainable growth.

According to the Ministry of Tourism’s monthly report, the Kingdom welcomed approximately 540,000 visitors last month, reflecting growing demand for Jordan as a destination and achieving the Vision’s target for combined overnight and same-day visitors.

Tourism revenues also increased, rising 3.4 percent year-on-year to reach USD 600.8 million, in line with the Vision’s goal of expanding inbound visitor spending and overall tourism income.

Domestic tourism remained robust, with nearly 25,000 participants joining the "Urdunna Jannah" program in October. The initiative directly supported local service sectors and helped broaden economic benefits across multiple governorates. The ministry conducted 185 inspections and awareness tours of tourism establishments and processed 64 complaints to enhance service quality, safety, and competitiveness.

In a push for sustainable tourism and community development, the ministry signed a memorandum of understanding with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) to regulate tourism professions and activities. October also saw Qatraneh Castle added to the "Urdunna Jannah" trail, school trips launched to Petra, and joint cleanliness and awareness campaigns carried out in partnership with Nahno and the "Youth Imprint" initiative.

Jordan’s international profile continued to grow, with North Azraq Village selected among the world’s best tourism villages for 2025. This recognition supports efforts to attract investment and strengthen the Kingdom’s global destination competitiveness.

Workforce development also advanced, with new training programs for service providers along the Jordan Trail in Umm Qais and the completion of similar programs in Ajloun, part of a broader project to train and qualify job seekers and workers in the tourism sector.

In heritage preservation, the Department of Antiquities announced that King Abdullah I’s Palace will be included in the 2025 ALECSO Architectural Heritage Register. Preservation and rehabilitation projects were launched in Abila, Machaerus, and Jerash, alongside seven field archaeological projects conducted with international missions, many of which will be integrated into the 2026–2029 implementation plan of the EMV.

The Jordan Tourism Board strengthened international promotion by launching a joint strategy with Qatar to expand access to Gulf markets, hosting the global DWP wedding conference, and supporting the National Jordan Trail thru-hike. Jordan also secured two gold awards at Expo 2025 Osaka, boosting its visibility in Asian markets.

Air connectivity expanded significantly, with Ryanair announcing a wider winter schedule offering 300,000 seats to 18 destinations, while Eurowings launched two weekly flights from Stuttgart to Amman. These developments support the Vision’s goal of connecting Jordan to key international markets and increasing visitor numbers.
