Hamas issued a detailed 4-page statement on Sunday, accusing the Israeli Occupation of systematically violating the terms of the ceasefire agreement signed in Sharm El-Sheikh one month ago.
In its statement, Hamas began by expressing appreciation to mediators, international organizations, and “the free people of the world” who opposed what it called the “genocide carried out by the occupation against our people in Gaza.” The movement credited these efforts for achieving the ceasefire, but warned that 'Israel’s' “repeated breaches threaten to collapse the agreement.”
According to the group, Hamas and other resistance factions have upheld their obligations “completely, accurately, and in good faith.” The statement notes that 20 'Israeli' captives were released alive within 72 hours, and that the group “continued daily coordination with mediators and the International Committee of the Red Cross” in searching for the remains of deceased captives despite “extremely difficult field conditions.”
Hamas said it managed to recover 24 out of 28 bodies, and had provided coordinates for additional remains in areas controlled by 'Israeli' forces.
“Hamas has left no pretext unaddressed, affirming through its actions and facts on the ground its full commitment to both the letter and spirit of the agreement,” the statement read.
