‘Israeli’ media reported that officials are exploring a potential deal involving the exit of some 200 Hamas fighters from parts of Gaza still under ‘Israeli’ control, in exchange for the return of all ‘Israeli’ bodies held by the group.

The reports, first published by Ynet and Kan 11, outline ongoing indirect talks between ‘Israel’ and Hamas through mediators in Qatar and Egypt. Key topics include humanitarian concerns, the return of captive remains, and the status of Hamas fighters remaining in southern Gaza.

It was reported that ‘Israel’ has discussed allowing a limited number of fighters to leave Gaza under strict conditions. However, the proposal remains highly controversial, with officials stressing that no release of political prisoners “with blood on their hands” will be permitted.

Tel Aviv is reportedly exploring various mechanisms to retrieve the remains of ‘Israeli’ captives, amid growing pressure from families demanding the return of their loved ones. While some reports cite the figure of “about 200 militants,” Hebrew media have not confirmed a finalized offer. Government sources told Ynet that these discussions are “part of a broader humanitarian dialogue rather than a concrete agreement.”

Hamas, in statements carried by Ynet and Walla, confirmed transferring the remains of several 'Israeli' bodies but accused ‘Israel’ of obstructing the process. The movement said that ‘Israel’ refused to receive forensic samples for identification and called on international mediators, including the Red Cross, to deploy teams capable of recovering all bodies trapped under Gaza’s rubble at once.

Hamas also linked any further body transfers to ‘Israel’s’ commitment to a formal ceasefire, arguing that humanitarian actions cannot proceed amid ongoing attacks.

Mediators reportedly said that talks are stalled over two main issues: whether ‘Israel’ will allow fighters to exit safely from Rafah or southern Gaza, and whether Hamas will release the remaining captives, alive or deceased, before a formal ceasefire.

Both sides have accused the other of delaying progress. ‘Israeli’ officials say Hamas seeks to use captives as “political leverage,” while Hamas contends that ‘Israel’s’ ongoing military aggression undermine trust in the negotiations.
