The 'Israeli' army launched a new ground operation in Syria’s Quneitra countryside on Monday, marking another breach of the nation’s sovereignty, according to local reports.
'Israeli' forces reportedly entered several villages in the southern region with multiple military vehicles and tanks. The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) said a patrol made up of four armored vehicles and two tanks stormed the villages of Al-Ajraf and Al-Mushayrifa, conducting home searches and surrounding several residences.
In a separate incident, another 'Israeli' convoy, seven military vehicles and two tanks, raided the village of Umm Batna, encircling a home on the western side of the area, SANA added.
The latest operation follows a string of cross-border raids in recent months across Syria’s southern provinces, including Quneitra, despite repeated international appeals urging Israel to stop infringing on Syrian sovereignty.
Following the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime in late 2024, 'Israel' reportedly expanded its occupation in the Golan Heights by advancing into the demilitarized buffer zone, a move that breached the 1974 Disengagement Agreement between the two countries.
