  • Netanyahu reportedly considered allowing safe passage for approximately 200 Hamas fighters trapped in Rafah's underground tunnels.
  • The move was intended to retrieve the bodies of captives and solidify the ‘Israeli’ military's position along the Yellow Line.

‘Israeli’ Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu considered allowing safe passage for approximately 200 Hamas fighters who are said to be "trapped" in the underground area of Rafah, according to Yedioth Ahronoth.

The potential deal comes in a bid to retrieve all the bodies of the captives and strengthen the ‘Israeli’ military on its side of the so-called “Yellow Line”, YNET said citing three political sources.

The decision has not been finalized yet.

Discussions were held about this proposal, the report added, but Netanyahu’s office later denied any “deal” with Hamas in exchange for the return of “additional bodies”.
