Rubio accuses Hamas of stealing humanitarian aid meant for civilians
- Secretary of State Marco Rubio accused Hamas of depriving civilians of vital humanitarian aid.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Saturday denounced Hamas following the release of a US military drone video that allegedly shows members of the group stealing a humanitarian aid truck intended for civilians in Gaza.
The footage, published by US Central Command (CENTCOM), appears to show several armed men attacking the driver of an aid truck, pulling him from the vehicle, and fleeing with the truck and its contents. The incident reportedly took place on Friday while aid was being transported to northern Khan Younis.
“Hamas continues to deprive the people of Gaza of the humanitarian aid they desperately need,” Rubio wrote on X. “This theft undermines international efforts in support of President Trump’s 20 Point Plan to deliver critical assistance to innocent civilians.”
Rubio added that Hamas remains “the impediment,” accusing the group of blocking relief intended for civilians. He urged its members to “lay down their arms and stop their looting so that Gaza can have a brighter future.”
CENTCOM said the incident was captured on surveillance video from a US MQ-9 drone operated by the Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC), which is monitoring the ongoing ceasefire between 'Israel' and Hamas.
“Operatives attacked the driver and stole the aid and truck after moving the driver to the road’s median,” CENTCOM stated on X, adding that the driver’s condition remains unknown.

The CMCC, established in southern 'Israel' on October 17, serves as the main coordination hub for humanitarian and stabilization efforts in Gaza. The command noted that nearly 40 countries and international organizations are involved in the mission, collectively delivering more than 600 aid and commercial trucks into Gaza daily.
