'Israeli' raid targets Lebanese territory
'Israeli' airstrike kills one, injures another in southern Lebanon on Friday
A new escalation on the southern Lebanese border occurred Friday when an 'Israeli' airstrike struck a village in the Bint Jbeil district, killing one person and injuring another, a Roya correspondent reported.
The Health Emergency Operations Center of the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health confirmed the casualties in an official statement, saying, “The Israeli enemy's raid on Friday on the town of Kounine in the Bint Jbeil district resulted in one death and one injury.”
This strike is part of ongoing military operations conducted by the Israeli Occupation along Lebanon’s southern border.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun on Thursday instructed the country’s armed forces to take action against any 'Israeli' incursions in southern Lebanon, following a recent 'Israeli' raid that resulted in the death of a municipal worker.
During a meeting with the army chief, Aoun stressed the importance of defending Lebanon’s sovereignty and ensuring the safety of its citizens. A statement from the presidency noted that he ordered the army to “confront any Israeli incursion into liberated southern territory, in defense of Lebanese territory and the safety of citizens.”
