The remains of two 'Israeli' captives have been returned to 'Israel', authorities confirmed Tuesday night.

Two caskets handed over to 'Israel' by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) were confirmed to contain the bodies of Arie “Zalman” Zalmanowicz, 85, and Tamir Adar, 38, both residents of Kibbutz Nir Oz.

The remains were recovered in the southern Gaza Strip and transferred to the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) for identification and burial arrangements.

The return took place under the ceasefire agreement currently in effect, which also facilitated the release of the final 20 living captives last Monday, within 72 hours of 'Israel’s' withdrawal to the Yellow Line. During the truce, Hamas has handed over the remains of 15 slain captives, according to 'Israeli' officials.

Among those still held in Gaza is an 'Israeli' soldier killed during the 2014 Gaza war, believed to be the last remaining captive from before Oct 7, 2023.
