Trump says China “doesn't want” to invade Taiwan

US President Donald Trump voiced doubt Monday that China would invade Taiwan, when asked about earlier Pentagon assessments that Beijing is eying 2027 to attempt to seize the self-governing democracy.

"I think we'll be just fine with China. China doesn't want to do that," Trump told reporters as he met Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
