'Israeli' navy fires warning shots at Palestinian boats off Gaza coast

An 'Israeli' Navy vessel fired warning shots at several Palestinian boats earlier today after they allegedly violated the naval blockade and posed a potential threat to troops off the southern coast of the Gaza Strip, the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) said.

According to the military, the Gazan vessels turned back following the warning shots, and there are no reports of injuries from the incident.

The IOF claimed that the shots were intended as a deterrent to prevent further violations of the naval blockade, which has been in place to restrict maritime access to the Gaza Strip.
