'Israeli' authorities say Hamas returns captive’s remains to Red Cross

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) said that Hamas has handed over a captive's body to the Red Cross.

Hamas announced on Friday that it would hand over the remains of one more 'Israeli' captive to the Red Cross, as part of the ongoing ceasefire deal with 'Israel'. The move comes after the Palestinian group pledged to return all bodies still unaccounted for under Gaza’s rubble.

Turkey has dispatched an 81-member team from its Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) to assist in locating the remaining bodies, including those of captives and Palestinians. The team, equipped with search-and-rescue tools and trained dogs, has been awaiting 'Israeli' permission to enter the territory.

A Turkish official told Agence France-Presse (AFP) that “it remains unclear when Israel will allow the Turkish team to enter Gaza,” though a Hamas source said the delegation is expected to enter by Sunday.

Under the ceasefire brokered by US President Donald Trump, Hamas has so far returned 20 surviving captives and the remains of nine of 28 known deceased captives. 'Israel', in exchange, freed nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners and paused its military campaign in Gaza.

Hamas confirmed Friday that its armed wing “will hand over the body of one of the Israeli captives, which was recovered today in the Gaza Strip, at 11:00 PM Gaza time (2000 GMT).”
