Roya Media Group begins filming new Ramadan 2026 comedy 'Shaker - Return of Champion'
Roya Media Group has begun filming its new mockumentary-style comedy series, Shaker – The Return of the Champion, set to premiere during Ramadan 2026.
The series follows Shaker, a former boxing champion who wakes up from a six-year coma to find himself in a world transformed by the post-COVID era and the dominance of social media. As he struggles to reclaim his fame, a foreign documentary crew captures his chaotic, humorous, and often absurd journey back to the ring.
A Fresh Local Take on Global Comedy Formats
Inspired by international hits such as The Office and Modern Family, Shaker – The Return of the Champion blends social satire with Jordanian humor. The 15-episode series (15 minutes each) uses the mockumentary format to break the fourth wall, allowing characters to speak directly to the camera and deliver sharp, relatable commentary on modern life in Jordan.
