Trump comments on Nobel Peace Prize loss
US President Donald Trump said on Monday that the Gaza conflict marks the eighth war he has successfully handled, emphasizing his ability to resolve conflicts and bring peace, calling the achievement “a great honor.”
Speaking at a press conference aboard Air Force One, Trump highlighted his relationship with 'Israeli' Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, noting that Netanyahu had nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize. Trump praised Netanyahu as “a wartime leader who did a remarkable job” and added, “I think he was the right man for this moment.”

Trump also addressed the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, saying his actions that year were aimed at achieving peace and saving lives rather than winning an award. “Perhaps the Nobel was for the achievements related to 2024,” he said. “Everything I did in 2025 was for peace.”
According to the New York Post, Trump’s loss of the prize was a matter of timing. The Norwegian Nobel Committee made its decision on Monday, two days before the announcement of the peace agreement between Hamas and 'Israel', rather than as a deliberate slight.
