13-10-2025 10:41|French President Emmanuel Macron affirmed Monday that the Palestinian Authority must play a role in the future of the Gaza Strip, a statement that outlines Paris’ official stance on the post-war phase.
The remarks, which he gave to press as he arrived in Egypt's Sharm El-Sheikh for the Gaza summit, come at a critical time as international talks intensify over the mechanisms for governing Gaza following the end of the war.
In his statement, Macron emphasized France’s firm position regarding the political arrangements for the territory, saying: “The Palestinian Authority must have a role in Gaza’s future.”
He also confirmed that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will be present at the Gaza summit in Sharm El-Sheikh.
